Is housing available?
The Student Life Office often posts offerings but Lansing Community College has no formal housing assistance available.There are no fees that you will incur. The only fees possible are elective insurance options that you may choose to accept beyond the comprehensive, paid insurance benefits that Cirrus Medical Staffing provides to all travelers.Cirrus travelers are highly compensated, treated fairly, have recruiters that are accessible on a 24 x 7 basis for emergencies, offer one of the most highly desirable paid insurance packages in the travel industry, and we work with each traveler on an individual basis. At Cirrus, you aren??t a number.
I under any obligation when I submit an application?
Absolutely not. Your application is used to qualify you for travel assignments and to submit to hospital ONLY if you authorize us to do so. Once your background is discussed with a Cirrus recruiter and your credentials are verified, you will have the opportunity to explore the available assignments that you??re interested in pursuing.Each Cirrus client hospital has individually negotiated rates that vary depending on several factors (specialty, location, level of experience, and type of facility). Pay rates are typically dependent on your individual experience and requirements coupled with the negotiated hospital rates. In some cases, facilities may offer bonuses for various reasons (sign-on, completion, quick start, etc.).
What fees am I required to pay?
There are no fees that you will incur. The only fees possible are elective insurance options that you may choose to accept beyond the comprehensive, paid insurance benefits that Cirrus Medical Staffing provides to all travelers.For the younger student, who does not have outside family responsibilities, the after class socialization is not the same as at the four year universities. College is often a "right of passage" for the late adolescent and that socialization is not a major focus You will have to meet the LPN program prerequisite course requirements. Often these will transfer from your previous college.Many of our students work part-time.

Your Cirrus recruiter will take you through the steps of preparation including providing valuable information regarding your destination. Each assignment may require specific ways to prepare, so you are in safe hands with our guidance.

We make it easy for you.The Accelerated program requires that the applicant have a Bachelor's degree. The degree can be in any area. All pre-requisites, including general education and NURS 200, must be completed before starting the Accelerated program. The nursing courses and subject areas are covered in 6 weeks instead of 8. The program is 14 consecutive months. Some of the coursework is online, with lab on campus and clinical hours in the Lansing and surrounding areas.
How are the GPA points mentioned in the Phase II process calculated?
The GPA is not your overall college GPA. It is calculated solely on the courses required for the Nursing Program. To calculate your GPA, use the worksheet provided in the Nursing Advising Guide.Many of our students work part-time. We definitely do not recommend more than 20 hours a week.
