The living organism known as mold has been around for millions of years and plenty of time and money has been spent learning how to get rid of mold. It comes in many forms and various colors, and is triggered by the growth of fungus. The airborne particles known as mold spores and certain factors can help the growth of mold. Use a spray bottle to apply the vinegar to places like faucets, grout and shower curtains. As mold can be found throughout the home, make sure that you attend to all the places that mold could grow- all those kitchen cupboards where there are crumbs and moisture are a great breeding ground for it.
A useful item to have when learning how to get rid of mold is an air conditioner. In the summer months when the weather is hot and humid, an air conditioner is a great item to help subdue mold. The relative humidity needs to be in the realm of 30%-50% in order to be effective.
Another product that helps in a similar way in colder months is a dehumidifier. Again, this needs to be kept at the same humidity level (30%-50%) in order to work.
One of the favourite places for mold to breed is a carpet. Because most carpets soak up dirt and moisture, they are very attractive to mold organisms. You can either treat your carpet with baking soda or replace it with hardwood flooring.
If the influx of mold is serious, then it may be best to consider calling the professionals to deal with the problem. An assessor can visit your home and identify the type of mold growing. Then a team will use tools such as wet vacuums, dry wipe materials and HEPA vacuums to eradicate the problem. There is a slight possibility that any lingering mold spores in the air may cause it to return, in which case a second treatment may be needed.
Having mold in your home is unpleasant and potentially damaging to you and your family's health. As soon as you detect that mold could be forming in your home it is best to treat it as soon as possible-eradicate the problem before it becomes impossible to recover.
